Dear Vendor:

The Athens Street Festival will be held this year on July 12th (rain date July 13th). We are looking forward to yet another great festival. Your participation will help this become a reality.

 

**GENERAL INFORMATION**

* Location: Athens Riverfront Park, Water Street (adjacent to park) and

   Second Street.

* Festival Hours: 10:00 AM. To 11:00 PM

* Set-up Time: 5:30 am to 9:30 am. (ALL vehicles MUST be off the street and out of the park by 9:30)  Trailers etc. can be set up in the park on Friday before the Festival to avoid the congestion of Saturday morning.

* Electricity: Will be available on a limited basis. Please inform us of your    needs. (Some 220 volt panels may be as far as 60 feet from your space) Please note there is no electricity on Second Street.

* Space Size: Approximately 10' wide by 12' long.

* Please let us know if you would like your information included on our website.  We will include a picture of your booth or trailer if you provide one with your application.

 

** COST **

* Craft & Novelty: On Second Street WEST of Washington Street is $40.00 (Open until 7:00PM).  On Second Street EAST of Washington Street and Water Street and in the Park, is $50.00 (open until 11:00PM).

 

* Food: $100.00 WEST of Washington St. (Open until 7:00PM).  $200.00 on Second Street EAST of Washington Street and Water Street and in the Park itself.(open until 11:00PM).

 

** RULES **

**All self-contained vehicles (Trailers self-contained trucks etc.) MUST be listed on your applications.  TOTAL length and width MUST be shown on your application.  This must include the tongue length of a trailer if the tongue is not removable.  (i.e. a 22’ trailer with a 3’ tongue is really 25’).  Our booths are 12’ x 10’, therefore 2 booths are 24’ and 1 foot of your trailer will be extending into the next vendors space. Please call and we will discuss how to handle it.

** Trailers MUST be in your space in the Park by no later than 8:00 AM. If you arrive after that time it will be up to our discretion as to refuse you entry or to assign you another space so GET THERE EARLY.  Please note that trailers can also be set up on Friday in the park only not on the streets.

** All food vendors MUST have a New York State Department of Health Certificate. NO OTHER CERTIFICATES WILL BE ACCEPTED!!! Please submit a current copy with your application. Any food vendor not having a DOH certificate on file with the Committee will not be allowed to set up and will not be refunded their entrance fee.

** If you wish a confirmation letter returned you MUST include a self addressed stamped envelope with your application or an email address. NO phone confirmations will be made.

 

**PROHIBITIONS**

* No Silly String, Smoke Bombs, Glass Containers, or Weapons of ANY kind will be sold within the Festival area. Remember, if it is illegal in New York State it is illegal at our festival. Vendors attempting to sell such items will be asked once to remove the items from sale, if placed back on sale, you will be asked to leave the festival. This is a family event and we want everyone to have a safe and fun time.  Thank you for your cooperation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

**PLEASE NOTE**

 

* We are sorry but there will be no running water available.

* Ice is available at the local Stewarts (We will help you get ice as much as we can.)

* No refunds for cancellations or no-shows

* No post-dated checks

* No checks will be accepted after July 1st. Cash or money orders only after that date.

* If you call in after July 1st we CANNOT reserve your space.  You will be considered a “walk-in” and assigned a space the day of the festival, on a first come first served basis unless we receive your application and payment prior to the festival.

* Applications postmarked by May 15th will be given first consideration. We will assign spaces at that time based on (1) last year's space request; (2) last year's attendance; and, (3) postmark date. Therefore, if you would like to request a specific area or spot, please send your application ASAP.

 

The Committee is also looking to you for input for other changes you feel will enhance sales at the festival. Please submit any suggestions you may have with your application)

 

**Mailing List**

 

The Athens Street Festival mailing list will be updated this season. If you submit an application for 2008 your name will be automatically kept on our mailing list. If you cannot make an application for 2008 for any reason, please notify the Committee that you wish to stay on our mailing list. You can mail us a notice at the Athens Street Festival address on the heading on this letter, or by the following means:

Note: If you participated in the 2007 Athens Street Festival you were assigned a specific space(s). The space(s) assigned to you should be noted just below your mailing address on the envelope in which this application was sent to you. If you want the same space(s) for 2007 please show the assignment on your 2008 application.

 

**A note to food vendors:  We try not to group the same type of foods together.  Nor do we limit how many vendors sell the same kinds of food, i.e. hamburgers, if 5 vendors want to sell hamburgers we will not stop them, but we will try to notify all vendors involved that there are many others selling the same food.  It will be up to individual vendors weather to sell that item or not.

We cannot guarantee specific requests for the location of booths, but every effort will be made to honor requests by vendors who were previously involved with the festival if their application is received in a timely manner. The Festival will be held July 12th (rain date July 13th). 2008.
